Cardiology

Dr. Sara Beth Bordelon is an assistant professor of cardiology. Her responsibilities include the diagnosis and treatment of clinical cardiac cases, cardiac consultations for referring veterinarians, faculty, and hospital staff, and the establishment of a cardiac catheterization laboratory for performing interventional cardiac procedures. Dr. Bordelon earned her D.V.M. in 2005 from Louisiana State University. She then completed a one-year rotating internship at Advanced Veterinary Care Center in Lawndale, Calif. Her internship was followed by a three-year residency program in cardiology at Washington State University. For the last three years she has served as the staff cardiologist at the Veterinary Emergency and Referral Center in Pensacola, Fla. She is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (cardiology).

Dr. SeungWoo Jung is an assistant professor of cardiology. His clinical and research interests lie in investigating the mechanism of heart failure and developing its therapeutic intervention. Dr. Jung received his D.V.M. and M.S. degrees from Seoul National University College of Veterinary Medicine in South Korea. Following graduation, he pursued clinical training in cardiology as a cardiology fellow at Cornell University. This training on the importance and value of translational cardiology motivated him to pursue a Ph.D. in physiological genomics at Cornell, studying genetic and molecular mechanism in cardiovascular disease. Dr. Jung completed his cardiology residency at the University of California, Davis, and became a board-certified veterinary cardiologist by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.
