Brad M. Matz is originally from Memphis, Tennessee. He attended Mississippi State University where he earned the Bachelor of Science degree in Animal and Dairy Sciences. After completion of his undergraduate degree, he was accepted into the College of Veterinary Medicine where he earned the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree graduating as a Giles Scholar.
Dr. Matz completed a rotating internship at Auburn University and stayed on as a resident in small animal surgery. Dr. Matz will complete the surgery residency in July, 2012 earning a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences. His research efforts have focused on minimally invasive surgery, intestinal surgery and orthopedics.
Dr. Matz will be staying at Auburn as a Clinical Lecturer/Fellow in Surgical Oncology. His clinical interests are surgical oncology and general surgery. Away from the hospital, he enjoys spending time with his family.
