12-month Rotating Emergency and Critical Care Internship	We are interested in new graduate veterinarians or veterinarians who are seeking advanced training in Emergency and Critical Care. Train under the guidance of our specialists in the areas of Emergency and Critical Care Medicine, as well as Surgery, Anesthesiology, and Oncology. Additional rotations to supplement the interns’ experience will include Dermatology, Shelter medicine, Theriogenology, Ophthalmology, and Dentistry. Approximately half of the interns’ time will be devoted to primary emergency case responsibility, however there will be myriad educational opportunities including daily case rounds, didactic rounds, journal club, and ample CE hours offered throughout the year. Our 11,000 square foot facility is fully equipped with a complete array of advanced diagnostic, therapeutic, and monitoring equipment including mechanical ventilators, pulse oximetery, end tidal CO2, Doppler blood pressure, Snyder O2 cage, digital radiography, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, rigid and flexible endoscopy, electronic brachytherapy, hyperthermia, therapeutic laser, laparoscopic and orthopedic equipment, GE light speed multi-slice helical CT scanner and offsite MRI capability. The successful candidate will join a vibrant team that includes a medical oncologist, two criticalists, two surgeons, five emergency doctors and dedicated support staff. The AESC is a state of the art facility that opened in 2009 and sees over 12,000 cases annually. We function as both a 24-hour small animal emergency and critical care hospital as well as a specialty referral center. Our 11,000 square foot facility is fully equipped with a complete array of advanced diagnostic, therapeutic, and monitoring equipment. The oncology service includes an Axxent electronic radiation unit, Thermofield hyperthermia system, chemotherapy pharmacy, chemotherapy biosafety hoods (2), video microscopy, ultrasound, digital radiography, conference room, clinical research laboratory, and individual office space. Complete laboratory services are also available in house. In addition, the AESC offers a complete array of imaging modalities including a GE light speed multi-slice helical CT scanner and off-site MRI capability. The hospital also has extensive support for minimally invasive procedures including video endoscopy, thoracoscopy, laparoscopy, and rhinoscopy. Our surgeons are skilled and equipped for surgical oncology procedures. To complement these procedures we use some of the latest technology including a 30W ultra pulse laser and electrosurgical units.	3/20/2013
Veterinarian Needed	Seeking 3rd Veterinarian to work in a 2 woman/man practice. Seeking individual who likes working with the public in a rural practice . This veterinarian must be self motivated, honest, loyal, and dedicated. We want a veterinarian who wants to work as a team player. This practice is approximately 18 years old and is located 20 miles south of Birmingham , Alabama . This is the fastest growing city in the state of Alabama . It is a diverse community with plenty of activities of the City Life of Birmingham, but yet having the country (rural) aspects of hunting, fishing, and riding horses. The practice includes mixed animals as follows; 75% small animal, 15% equine, 5% of small and large ruminants and 5% pigs and exotics. Also, there is a Large Animal facility 70% functionable. This position is for an individual who is interested in small animal and enjoys to see a stray untypical small animal. Large animal work is available, but pretty much covered by another currently employed veterinarian. There are approximately 13 employees with 1 practice manager, 1 office manager, 3 receptionists, 3-4 technicians and 2 kennel workers. There is 1 large animal staff member that work at the barn. Currently, we have four examine rooms. A typical work week includes 40 hours and no after hour small animal emergencies; these are referred to the local emergency clinic. If interested in large animal emergencies, there is room for more incentives. Also, there is a possibility of part time employment so please apply . Practice includes; reception area with information for clients, four exam rooms, digital X-ray machine, Idexx 8008 Chemistry machine, Vetscan Chemistry machine, Idexx machine-T3/T4-Cortisone-CBC-Electrolytes, Idexx Lasercyte cbc/chemistry, Surgical Suite with two operating tables, cryotherapy equipment, orthopedic equipment including plating equipment, island wash rack/tube, dental equipment, intra-vet software, break room, isolation room with 3 runs and 1 bank of cages, boarding facility with approximately 12 runs and 2 banks of cages, cat isolation room, and a grooming area. Currently in this same building there is also an area in the back for large animal supply storage. The new building currently has 7 equine stalls and few stalls for Bovine. There is a setup for Equine and Bovine surgeries, soon to be activated. Pay based on experience. Benefits will be discussed. Our clinic is very flexible, and we stress high quality medicine with an emphasis on good communication and relationships with our clientèles.
