|LECTURER POSITION IN PHARMACOLOGY||The Department of Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmacology, within the College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University, invites applications for a nine-month, non-tenure track Lecturer position in Pharmacology. Responsibilities will include assistance in the acquisition and preparation of high quality multi-species teaching materials used in the t ' professional/graduate curricula and participation in professional development. The individual will participate in team teaching general pharmacology (2nd year) and clinical pharmacology (3rd year). This will include but not be limited to preparation of lectures and in class activities, preparation and grading of activities, including examinations, and preparation of instructional grant applications. The successful applicant also will be expected to participate in clinical rounds (4th year) and contribute to Practice Management (4th year clinical rotation). Experience in teaching of pharmacology or clinical pharmacology of domestic species with demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching at the university level is desired. Individuals with an interest in interactive, technology-rich and evidence-based teaching and those who have pursued opportunities for professional development in this area will be desired. Minimum qualifications include a PhD in Pharmacology or an allied field in biomedical sciences and/or DVM. We seek individuals with expertise in large animal pharmacology and individuals with experience in clinical pharmacology. The Radiology Service at Auburn University is committed to excellence in clinical service, research, and teaching professional veterinary students, residents and interns. Applicants for this faculty position must hold a DVM or equivalent degree, have completed a radiology residency, and have achieved diplomate status or be eligible to sit for board certification examination with the ACVR or ECVDI by position start date. |Graduate Teaching Assistantship||The Department of Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmacology in the College of Veterinary Medicine, Auburn University has a position for a Graduate Teaching Assistant available Fall Semester, 2014. The successful candidate will assist in the instruction of Veterinary Physiology (2 semesters) to the first-year professional veterinary students. Duties will include attending or directing weekly review sessions, development and implementation of computer simulations to complement lecture material, and assistance with administration and grading of examinations. Applicants should possess an M.S. or D.V.M./V.M.D. and will enroll in the College’s Biomedical Sciences Ph.D. Graduate Program. Students who have taken a course(s) equivalent to graduate level mammalian Physiology will be given preference in the selection process. Possession of a D.V.M./V.M.D. degree is desirable but not a requirement. |ANESTHESIA FACULTY DEPARTMENT OF CLINICAL SCIENCES||Applicants should have a strong interest and experience in clinical anesthesiology and instruction of veterinary students. A clinical track position is designed for individuals desiring service/teaching obligations in busy university teaching hospital setting. A tenure tract position is designed for individuals with additional interests in research and other scholarly activity. There is flexibility in the percent effort for the faculty assignments depending on an individual’s interest and expertise. Initially, clinical duties will be predominantly with small animals, but will include equine, food animal, and avian species. Faculty participate in teaching interns, residents, and veterinary students through various activities including primary case management, patient rounds, didactic lectures, laboratories, and continuing education programs. The Large Animal Teaching Hospital was completed in 2007 and the Small Animal Teaching Hospital was completed in 2014.||4/8/2014|
