Auburn, Alabama —
Veterinary medicine students from Auburn and Tuskegee universities began practicing what they are learning by working the first of two Our Oath in Action events.
Through the sponsorship of the American Veterinary Foundation and in partnership with the Alabama Veterinary Medical Foundation, the group of students participated in 2013 Fall Roundup and Taste of Alabama Agriculture on Saturday, Oct. 12 on the Auburn University campus.
Students handed out literature and talked with the public about the importance of having a plan for their animals when a natural disaster occurs.
The AVMF chose Alabama as one of six states to debut the national Our Oath in Action campaign, and the Auburn event was one of two scheduled in the state. Tuskegee also plans an event in early November, and students from both schools will join efforts again to support that event.
